Massage Therapy AS Program

 

Massage Therapy Associate Degree Program is offering at Florida Medical College starting on 2013. Training is our program, is client centered and also includes massage practicum, hydrotherapy, spa techniques, muscular activity, and mechanics of body movements. In the Florida Medical College Massage Therapy Program is also included the most common pathologies and diseases, sport massage, massage law, business practices, and the most current allied modalities.

Classes are offering in English and Spanish from Monday to Friday and also on Saturday. English class is from 9am to 5 pm and Spanish is from 6pm to 10 pm. Class on Saturday is from 8am to 6 pm.

Enrollment is accepted a week before planning to start. More than 18 years old and high school Diploma is needed for enrollment. We accept students from other schools previous credit presentations.

At the end of the course graduate should have to apply for licensed examination Board exam through the Federation of State of Massage Therapy Boards who governs and administers the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx). Our students will receive education and training in all subject areas of the MBLEx Content Outline from an approved massage therapy education program, in compliance with the FSMTB and the Program approved by the Board of Massage of Florida.

 

                        

 

At Florida Medical College the students in Associate Degree Massage Therapy program have the opportunity to observe, assist learn and perform massage services with emphasis on the transition from student to professional and prepare them for the state Board and National Certification Examination for licensure as a Licensed Massage Therapist.

Our graduates in massage therapy have been prepared to work with clients from different groups of ages, helping them to reduce and in the pain management of the chronic pain and dealing with injury, musculoskeletal disorders, disability in mobility, as well as offer services to individuals and groups looking for stress management, lymphatic drainage post surgical treatment, aesthetic body treatment or any intervention and injury prevention strategies.

Graduate have the opportunities to specialized in other aesthetic procedures of body treatment performing in the aesthetic practice, such as Radiofrequency and cavitation, body wrapping, microdermabrasion and apply for skin care license and register a body wrapping license in the State of Florida.

 

  

 

We also provide with the knowledge and techniques to help problems such as neck, back sciatic pain, relaxation, stress reduction and muscle spams, combining the oriental modalities with the western and allied modalities it the treatment of the clients.
