Electrolysis Course

Become an Electrologist at Florida Medical College, our Electrolysis Program prepare the students for permanently removing the unwanted hair. Students who graduate from Florida Medical College are preparing to pass the examination test of Florida Board in order to obtain the Florida License as Electrologist. Electrolysis program is complying with current regulation for Electrolysis School in Florida. Students also can acquire the Laser Hair Removal 30 hours Certification in our approved Training Course.

Electrolysis is a process when the direct electrical current is used to produce a chemical reaction, and this process is being used for permanent remove the human hair. At Florida Medical College we are training students to practice electrical depilation to perform electrolysis as permanent hair removal method and becoming them in a true professional, in genuine Electrologist.

Florida Medical College is licensed by The Commission for Independent of Education in Florida and it is one of the approved training schools by the Electrolysis Council in the State of Florida. The Electrolysis Program consists of 120 hours of academic instructions and 200 hours of clinical applications for a total of 320 clock hours of instruction in Electrology.

Electrologist is one of licensed professional which can perfom laser in Florida among others like Medical Doctor, Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner. Electrology students must complete the electrolysis module, pass the Electrolysis board, complete 30 hours of Laser Hair Removal in certified place and obtain the Certified Medical Electrolysis Certification in order to complete all requirements to be a Laser Hair Removal Professional in Florida.

 

Electrolysis Program Objetive

This program is designed to train students in permanent hair removal by electrolysis. The courses are designed to give the students an entry-level preparation to work in the field of electrology. The modern short wave, blend, and galvanic methods are taught in small classes and students gain hands-on experience through clinical applications. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates may apply for the state licensing exam and the national certification testing. A diploma will be awarded upon graduation from the program. The State of Florida requires Electrologist to be licensed to work in the field.

For practicing Electrolysis in Florida there are some step that you have to do, to become a licensed electrologist,

  1. Graduated as Electrology.
  2. Apply for Licensure by Examination.
  3. Become a Laser Professional Board Certified if you desire to practice laser hair removal and you have to:

a.- Certified as Clinical Electrologist and

b.- Certified as Medical Electrologist.

Electrologist are allowed to perform laser and light-based hair removal in the State of Florida only if they have completed the requirements expressed in the Rule 64B8-52.004, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.).

Once you have completed the Electrolysis Program, a diploma will be awarded upon graduation and you will prepared to apply for a required license to practice Electrolysis in this State of Florida.

We will help you to be ready for the Certified Clinical Electrologist exam and Certified Medical Electrologist exam. As part of our program we help our students to apply and fill the application for licensure examination, which must be receive before the application deadline, that is 120 days prior the examination date. For graduated students at Florida Medical College or the ones who have taken the Laser Hair Removal Certification course, the College has a special board examination review course like the one we have for the CCE and the CME exams.
